At its heart is a famous hostelry, dating back to the 15th century and reputedly the first inn to be granted a licence in Wales (in 1573). The inn’s low ceilings, exposed beams, rambling rooms, old portraits and roaring log fires preserve an authentic sense of history.

Then comes the second string to the Groes’s bow - a series of superb contemporary rooms which blend perfectly with the inn’s historic fabric.
